Speciale Skateboard Grafik David Flores David Flores Art Dave Flores has become one of our generation's most prolific artists, emerging from the underground world of skateboarding, then taking it a step further, watching as his art hangs on some of the nation's most prestigious walls. Flores moved to Santa Barbara to hook up with Tony Buyalos, the owner and creator of SHORTY'S Inc. in 1993. This connection made way for Black Panther bearings, Doh-Doh, Bushings and all the other eye-popping and creative characters you see on most of Shorty's products. Another move to San Francisco in December of 1996 found Dave creating art and graphics for Thunder, Real, Spitfire, Anti-Hero, Lucky, Stereo and his childhood hero, Mark Gonzales. Due to his professional past, Flores is known for his signature work on "the pill," or a skateboard deck, as he's worked with such pros as John Cardiel, Chad Muska, The Gonz, Cairo Foster and Chris Pastras. In the summer of 2000, David Flores took some focus off of his graphic day job to work on some art shows, paintings, freelance work and a company he started with Erik Ross called REDFIVE. Flores has also did freelance work for magazines such as Relax, Vapors, XLR8R, CLOUT, FRANK 151, SLAP and Mass Appeal. Dave has also shown his work in numerous solo/group shows in L.A., San Diego, New York, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Seattle and will soon be showing in Tokyo.
